About Us

SMVSS is actively involved with rural development activities within Udaipur- Banswara- Chittorgarh- Jalore- Pali- Sirohi and Dungarpur districts of Rajasthan. It is contributing to serve society with participation and collaboration of Local Government offices- concerned communities- volunteers- PRIs and public representatives. SMVSS is spreading awareness in several sectors like health- education and self reliance among backward tribal communities. Interventions for enhanced livelihood are carrying out with involvement of local communities and Self Help Groups. Shri Mateshwari Vikas Seva Samiti (SMVSS) formed by youth and aware farmers of Sarada block (Udaipur) during the year 2001. SMVSS aiming the socio- economic development of poor and backward rural families and tribal community of south Rajasthan. The organization became formal and legal body during the same year by registration at Udaipur under Rajasthan Societies Registration Act 1958. 

The organization is initiating for women’s empowerment by generating spirit of dignity- independency and cooperation amongst rural women through Self Help Groups. SMVSS is providing technical knowledge on agriculture- horticulture and animal husbandry to rural people and linking up them with micro finance for sustained livelihood. SMVSS is ensuring gender equity at every step during implementation of its each programme and solving local problems with participation of targeted communities and volunteers. It is also encouraging rural communities for development and improved status of lives. Formation of local groups and their strengthening- generation of spirit for equity and brotherhood- common authorization on local resources- Rural development activities with participatory approach- judicious management and justified utilization of local resources for sustainable livelihoods are another interventions of SMVSS on the way of integrated social development.

Our Story

Shri Mateshwari Vikas Seva Samiti is a voluntary organization,established in 2001, as a Social Society by Shri Pema Ram Patel, a social worker with graduate farmer worked closely with the villagers around the Sallada village of Sarada Block of Udaipur district. He established the Organization to improve the economic status of the poor family's lives in rural area. Although various Development Departments of the Government have been trying to help the rural families to provide essential support services, there is a wide gap in the extension services to help the needy families.
